The study of a foreign language is a valuable part of educational program. ALL students can benefit from the skills and broadened cultural understanding, which result from the study of a foreign language. Academically able students who are not planning to attend college should not be discouraged from studying foreign language. All foreign language courses are college preparatory and fulfill the one-year Foreign Language/Fine Arts requirement needed from high school. They also fulfill University of California and California State University admission requirements.
